MEI LLC Software Installed on Full Auto
Tools
Retrofit provides reliability as
well as performance enhancements
Albany, OR. October 12, 2006 – MEI LLC has provided their
IDX software package for installation on Submicron Systems Rear Mount model wet
stations. At sites around the world, the IDX software is providing new
production life to old SMS Wet Process Equipment. In many cases the software was
provided as part of a larger retrofit to change the process configurations of
the tools. In other cases the software was used as a new platform from which to
replace the existing obsolete automation components. Each customer has benefited
greatly from the new software features such as “auto resume” from robot errors
which eliminates the need for a manual recovery of product should a miss-pickup
alignment issue occur.
Dan Cappello, CEO of MEI said “We are very pleased that the IDX
software has received such broad acceptance on a wide variety of tool sets. Many
companies will provide a quote to replace the old wet stations, but few will
provide the means to refurbish and restore the older equipment running in a fab.
There have been many OEM companies bought or merged over the last seven years.
As a result, many OEM names are no longer supported effectively by the acquiring
company. MEI has excelled in providing engineering solutions to give these wet
stations new life”.
